C-nario is a female R&B trio from Chicago who mix classic-style vocal-group soul with contemporary production, courtesy of Chicago soul veteran Clarence Johnson, who worked with cult favorites like The Lovelites, Heaven & Earth, and Brighter Side Of Darkness during the '70s. They debuted on the Chi City label in 1999 with the EP What's Going On, which featured their version of the Marvin Gaye title cut; 2001 brought their first full-length album in Turn Around, which attracted some attention for its lead single "Body Fusion," a cover of the Starvue hit that had originally been produced by Johnson. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
