Singer Zahava Seewald is highly acclaimed for the lovely voice with which she sings Sephardic and Ashkenaz songs. Based out of Belgium, her band Psamim has been performing since the early '90s. Seewald has her own release on Sub Rosa entitled Ashkenaz Songs, and appears on labelmate Mosaic's CD, Yiddish and Judeo-Christian Songs. In 1999, Psamim's album Abi Gezint! was released on the Tzadik label. This release is mostly instrumental arrangements, although Seewald does sing on a few tunes. ~ Joslyn Layne, All Music Guide
