Battle of the Bartenders

It wasn't quite Beijing and it wasn't quite sports, but it didn't make the competition any less exciting at the 15th annual Bartenders Olympics at Jackfish Dundee's. It was a boisterous and raucous day of fun in the sun as teams of bartenders from the Fort St. John area took to the field to determine who was best in hospitality.Bartenders typically spend most of their day tucked behind the counter with the glasses and booze, at the beck and call of servers and patrons. But not yesterday. Local bartenders were turned loose to off their skills and celebrate with friends. The festivities, complete with jello shooters, began with a Keg toss. Where bartenders were required to hurl an empty keg across a field. And from then on, their professional service standards gave way to the wacky events and the desire to win. There was an obstacle course, a tray toss, a quick pour and serve contest, best drinks and shooters, and a beer can roll (that saw contests crawling across the field on their hands and knees, rolling a beer can with a tongue depressor held in their mouth).
With the hot weather and copious amount of booze, it was smiles all around as the bartending teams bonded over suds and snacks, and the spectators entertained over the antics of determined participants.
At the end of the six hour event, it was Cheers that came out the overall winner. But there were still plenty other titles to be won:
