There's hope within the small forestry dependent town of Mackenzie that a recent cabinet shuffle will breathe new life into the community.

Despite the loss of nearly 1500 jobs, Mayor Stephanie Killam remains positive about the future of forestry in her community. She believes this week's cabinet shuffle is the first move in getting the industry back on track. Killam also believes Minister Rich Coleman did a good job during his tenure as the Minister of Forest and Range. But she also says newly appointed MLA Pat Bell will have a positive impact on the ailing industry.

Killam is pleased to see the cabinet post go to an MLA whose constituency is based in the northern part of the province, rather than in the lower mainland.
