Body Identified as Missing Woman

The body found on Jackfish Lake Road in Chetwynd last Tuesday has now been identified as a woman missing from Chetwynd since April 16,2008. Annie Lenore Davis, 46, was last known to be hitch-hiking from Chetwynd to Dawson Creek on April 16,2008.  Her body was discovered three weeks later on a rural road, outside of Chetwynd and a massive investigation was launched involving the North District Major Crime Unit along with the police dog services. The RCMP is now in the midst of a murder investigation, although, they will not reveal how Davis was killed.  Police are asking anyone with information and particularly anyone who had contact with Annie on or about April 16th to contact the Chetwynd RCMP at 788-9221.
