A $40,000 grant to the North Peace Museum has been approved by the city of Fort St. John.

The money was given approval by city council on Monday night, which will help offset costs in expanding the museum. A kitchen and office space was added in construction which finished late last year.

Museum Manager Daria Dolsen says part of the money will go toward upgrading the exhibit section of the museum.

A meeting is being held for museum board members tonight to discuss how the grant money will be used.
