Young Marble Giants - Live at the Hurrah [DVD]

According to the brief note on the back of the case, this 40-minute video contains the only known footage of The Young Marble Giants in concert. Filmed by Merril Aldighieri and Joe Tripician, this shows the trio performing at the Hurrah Club in New York on November 21 and November 22 of 1980. Although it's basic stuff, with a few camera angles of a dark stage lit with hazy colors, it's an important historical document, with decent sound. The band sounds much like they do on their records as they run through much of the material from their sparse recorded repertoire, with ten songs from the November 21 show and five from the November 22 gig; "Credit in the Straight World" and "Final Day" are heard in both sets, but otherwise there's no repetition. Read More
