Originally released back in 1987 (long before death metal and grindcore were established genres and while pioneering bands Death and Napalm Death were just beginning), Grim Reality has been in and out of print over the years. Featuring songs such as "Ed Gein," "Son of Sam," "Mass Murderer," and "Serial Killer," the album showcases Macabre's fetish for serial killers, a characteristic that would eventually win them acclaim on the Sinister Slaughter (1993) and Dahmer (2000) albums.
