L'Infonie - Vol. 3333
After Vol. 333, Walter Boudreau kept working on L'infonie's magnum opus "Paix" (Peace). A sixth and final version was completed in September 1973 and performed for Radio-Canada, Canada's national french radio. Vol. 3333 is entirely made of "Paix," now 50 minutes long. This is the radio performance without any overdubs. The sound quality is much better and the piece more lively: it goes deeper in the more experimental passages, it rocks less straightforwardly when the rhythm section kicks in. Some sections (there are 50) have been completely rewritten, especially those where Raôul Duguay sang (he left the band after Vol. 333). The piece is tighter, the sections better integrated, the composition enriched. The only problem is: it doesn't feel like L'infonie anymore, but more like a Boudreau-only project. ~ François Couture, All Music Guide
